Recently Read: July/August

Hello again! I'm still here!

This week I thought I'd do a post on the books I've read recently.
In all honesty, I actually photographed this way back in July and I've read so many books since July, but I may do an update soon of some of the best books I've read since (I won't do them all as I'm a fast reader so it'll be 1000 years long).

A Rather Big Beauty Haul & I'm Back!

Hi. Remember me? Probably not, seeing as I've been gone for nearly six months. SIX MONTHS.

Anyway, I really honestly have no good excuse as to why I've been away other than school. I took a 'small' break after Christmas so I could revise for my prelims (Scottish version of Mocks!) but then I just never started the blog up again afterwards and then I got carried away...and now it's the end of May and I have just one exam left, woop woop!

Anyway, I thought I'd start back my blog with a good old haul, as I've found some good quality retail therapy is a good way to de stress from my exams! (not the best for my bank account though...)

To start off this haul, I picked up the L'Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation recently. I got after hearing so many people on Youtube talking about it, and I really wanted to try out a foundation that was quite high coverage. It's been around two months I think since I got this, and I absolutely love it! It suits my skintone really well, blends out so easily and covers so well. I even like using this as a concealer sometimes if I'm using another foundation and can't quite cover up my spots, and it covers them so much! It feels really light as well, and it blends so nicely that you can't even tell you're wearing any foundation!

I've also bought a foundation stick from Primark, as I haven't really heard anyone on youtube or the blogging scene talking about it and I really wanted to try it out. I think I'm going to do a full review of this, and I haven't really given it a proper go yet, so look out for that!

I've been running out of my Nivea aftershave balm primer that I use, so I decided to pick up a new one, and decided on the Rimmel Fix & Protect primer, which has SPF 25. I really love this primer, possibly even more than my Nivea one, as this one really moisturises my skin and I really like the fact that it has SPF in it, because as a 17 year old I have a real fear of wrinkles and I mean, you've got to start prevention early, right?

Morphe is a brand that I've wanted to try for ages, and after binge watching SophDoesNail's youtube channel, I was convinced to buy the Morphe M557 Mini Detail Contour Brush. This is such a good little contour brush, I use it with the Freedom Contour Pan in 03 and it actually makes me feel as though I know how to contour (not actually sure if it's improved my actual contouring skills, but oh well). It's so soft and blends out bronzer so well, and it's really tempting me to try out some other Morphe brushes, even though I clearly do not need any more makeup brushes...

Lastly for base products, I had run out of my mini Urban Decay setting spray, and really wanted to try out a cheaper one, as I didn't really fancy paying £9 for a mini setting spray when I could easily get a full sized spray from Boots for cheaper. I ended up getting the Makeup Revolution Pro Fix Oil Control Setting Spray. I really like this too, it keeps my makeup on and has a really nice spray/nozzle thing. If you can't already tell, I'm not really sure what else I can say about a setting spray seeing as it is a pretty boring product, so I'll just cut this here!

Onto more exciting purchases: eyeshadow! I bought the Morphe 35P palette after waiting ages on a waitlist, and it's so pretty! I got this one with ore purple colours as I don't really own any purple eyeshadow and I didn't want to get a palette like the infamous 35O as I already had a gazillion other shades just like it and I really wanted to try and wear more colourful makeup and thought this would be a good way to try it out! The eyeshadows are so pigmented and blend so easily! It's really good value for money as you get 35 eyeshadows for around £21, and I would definitely recommend getting on the waiting list for this on Cult Beauty or Beauty Bay, as it's so worth the money and I get so much use out of it!

Next up is the Makeup Revolution Flawless Mattes 2 palette. I first saw this on Gabby (VelvetGh0st)'s channel and I went right out and bought it as I thought it looked so pretty! Believe it or not, all of these shades are matte (not that you wouldn't guess that from the name of the palette of course), and I love this palette for school as I'm not really one to wear bright colours to school. I just shove some of the browns through my crease and a lighter colour all over my eyelid and it looks really natural and takes me literally 1 minute to do! I also love the pinky peach colours down the right side, it's pretty much the only eyeshadow I've been wearing for the past two weeks! I would definitely recommend this to everyone, as it's only £8, and the eyeshadows are so high quality and last all day without fading!

Onto the last products in this haul - more eyeshadows!
I got a little Z Palette for my Christmas, and I've been purchasing a few Makeup Geek eyeshadows to fill it up. I recently made a little order on Beauty Bay and ended up ordering 3 Makeup Geek shadows. The first one I picked up was Cinderella, which is a shimmery, light pink, champagne-y shade. The next one is Cosmopolitan which I think is my favourite of the three, as it's a shimmery orange shade that looks so pretty and I've been wearing it so much since I got it!
And lastly, I got a foiled eyeshadow in the shade Grandstand, which is a gorgeous bronze shade that is just so pigmented and pretty, I love it so much!

---

I hope you liked this little haul! I'm hoping to start posting again regularly as it's just less than a month until I break up for the summer holidays so I'll be free from school and exams so I'll be able to post far more regularly!

Anyway, thank you for reading, and I'll see you soon!

Skincare Routine // How I Cleared Up My Skin!

Hello everyone! This is my first proper blog post in a few weeks (last week's post didn't count, that was just me rambling away for a while).
So, a skincare routine! I thought it was about time I done a new version of this, as since the last time I done one, my skin has completely cleared up and it's all down to these products that I use every day! Well, at least I'm assuming it's because of these - I don't know what it would be because of otherwise!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

The Emergency Beauty Bag

Seeing as some of us are going back to school in a few weeks *sob*, I thought I would put together a post on the little 'emergency bag' I carry around in my bag for school. This contains practically everything you would need for school, from makeup top-ups, to plasters!

For makeup, I tend to carry around the products that need to be reapplied throughout the day.
So the first product I carry around is a concealer. The one in the photo is the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, which I love. I normally use my MAC Pro Longwear Concealer for school and use the Collection concealer for top-ups during the day.

I also carry a powder, because if I don't reapply powder halfway through the day, then I look like a greasy mess by the time I get home. I'm using the Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot Powder just now, which I've hit pan on! I'll most likely just put this in the emergency bag to finish it up, and buy a new Rimmel Stay Matte for my makeup drawers for me to use everyday. I also carry a powder brush around to apply it!

For lips, I usually carry some sort of lip balm and lip product. The Maybelline Baby Lips are really good for no-makeup days, as they're slightly tinted and help moisturise your lips. I also carry about a lipstick or lipgloss that I like. I usually use the L'Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick in J-Lo's Nude, as it's a really pretty pinky-nude shade.

No one wants to stink during school, so I carry around a mini can of deodorant just in case.
I also carry a little perfume sample, this is the Ariana Grande perfume that I love. I normally carry about a body spray with me too, but that's too big to fit inside the makeup bag.

Hand sanitiser is an essential for those times where you accidentally touch a piece of chewing gum under your desk. I normally use the Bath and Body Works ones, as they're the only ones I have. This one is called A Thousand Wishes and smells really nice!

We're all girls here, so I think all of us carries at least one pad/tampon around with them in school. You don't know when mother nature will decided to bless you with your period, so it's good to be prepared!

I also carry around a small stash of plasters and paracetamol. I'm prone to paper cuts, so plasters are an essential for me, as are paracetamol when said mother nature blesses you with not only your period, but cramps too.

I carry a couple of hair baubles around with me, as my hair is really thick and frizzy, and if I don't have time to straighten it, then I most likely just shove it up in a bun in school. To go along with this, I carry a few kirby grips!
I also carry tissues, because everyone needs tissues!
Chewing gum is also a big essential for me, I normally carry a packet in my blazer, but this is my emergency chewing gum for when I don't have any left. That's quite sad, isn't it?

Lastly, I carry some money around with me just in case I need it, whether it be for lunch or a bus or train ticket.

---

I hope this post was helpful to you! I love reading posts like this, and I thought it would be helpful for people like me, who are going back to school soon.

Thank you for reading, and I'll see you soon!

Clothing Wishlist - August

Hi! Today I've decided to do another wishlist! I do beauty wishlists a lot but I decided to switch it up a bit and do a clothing wishlist instead. Over the past few weeks, I've found myself browsing Missguided, Topshop and Asos a lot! I'm not going to lie, I hate buying clothes, as they're so expensive! But there's no harm in filling up your basket with clothes and then emptying it when you realise you can't afford any of it, is there?

How to Look Alive in Under Five Minutes // Makeup Tutorial

Hello! I thought I would do a post on the makeup I always wear when I'm in a rush (which is all the time). This is normally the makeup I would wear to school as it's really quick and easy. Okay, maybe
I can't do this in five minutes, but I'm sure if I didn't listen (and dance around) to music while doing my makeup, I could do it in under five minutes.

As I said, this makeup is good to wear to school, as it's quite natural and quick, or if you've woken up late and have to do your makeup in a rush!

10 Under £10

Hello everyone! Sorry this post is up a bit later than usual! This is a bit of a last-minute post, as I had originally planned to do an OOTW from my holiday in Greece (which I'm just back from, by the way), but that didn't really go as planned, because 1. I can hardly dress myself properly, 2. 99% of my clothes are either from Primark or New Look, and 3. I'm just too lazy.

Anyway, I thought I would put together a little 10 under £10 post as I do love drugstore makeup, and I thought I would show you my favourite products!

Current Everyday Makeup Routine

Hello! It's been a while since I done an everyday makeup routine - I think the last one was in November. Recently, I've been doing my makeup always using the same products, so I thought I would do a little roundup of the products I've been using recently.

Obviously, I do not wear this makeup everyday, I mostly just wear this at the weekend when I'm going out, but My-Current-Makeup-Routine-That-I-Only-Wear-at-the-Weekend doesn't really have the same ring to it as 'My Everyday Makeup Routine', does it?

Anyway, I hope you like this post, and it's not too rambly!

What's in my Bag? - Summer Edition

Hi! I've never done a 'what's in my bag' before, so I thought since I recently got a new bag I would show you what I keep in it!

My original plan was to do another 'What's in my Carry-On Bag' like I done last year when I went on holiday, but when I went to photograph everything, it's was all practically the same as what I took last year, so I decided to do just a normal what's in my bag instead!

L'Oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation Review

Hi everyone! I've seen a lot of people talking about the new L'Oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation that came out a few weeks ago, so I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon (as I always do) and do a review!

And also, before I start the review, I just thought I would say that I'm currently on holiday as you're reading this! I'm in Greece, so the next few posts are all pre-written, so I hope you like them!

Feel free to answer one or two of these questions in the comments, and we can be weird together!

Onto the questions!

Huge London Haul - Makeup, Lush and More!

Hi! As you all probably know if you've been reading my blog for the past few weeks, I went to London with my mum for my birthday. While I was down there, I done a little hella lot of shopping. When I got home, I decided that I could justify all of the things I bought by showing them in a big haul!
I did buy clothing bits and things like that, but I didn't include them because they're a bit awkward to photograph. I'm going to get onto the haul now, as it's a long one!
